So a lot of great things have happened this month!
1. Interns!
So 2Social and LXRY Magazine now has interns! They are fantastic and I can’t wait to work with them this summer! They are going to be focusing on blogging, events, photography, video and much more!
2. Stayed at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel!
When it comes to niches I certainly picked a good one with LXRY. I am very excited to say that I stayed at the Fairmont Royal York and I am loved it! I had a steak that was at Epic, had a beautiful room, and even got up on the roof looking down on the construction on Union Station.
3. One Year!
Happy to say that my family’s dog, the infamous Halie, is One Year old! That dog is something else, that’s for sure!
4. Going to start Podcasting!
After a month of thinking about it, I am going to start podcasting. I have always wanted to! I have been apart of the MSU + U show for McMaster and I got a taste of what it was like to be on the radio, and I loved it. So I am going to start scripting out a podcast and going for it!
5. Won a Bespoke Shirt by Marlon Durrant
Went to the #SprungTO event and I won a custom made Marlon Durrant Bespoke shirt! So very excited for it once it’s made!
Spreeder is very useful for larger articles! It breaks the words down and delivers them to you almost like a slideshow. Very cool tool, and it definitely helps you breeze through longer and boring articles or papers! Try it!
1. Go to Spreeder
2. Click on ‘Click Here to Speed Read this Introduction”
3. Copy & Paste the text what you want to speed through
4. Set the WPM and amount of words to whatever you are comfortable with.
This month has been definitely better than the months previous, way more exciting and full of life. Here’s what happened!
1. Canadian Music Week
For my roommate’s birthday, he wanted to go to Canadian Music Week, which was great! We were going to see the The Indies show, which included The Sheepdogs, Passion Pit, Rich Aucoin, Dan Mangan, and kings of pop culture from the 90s, Treble Charger! Who knew!
The Sheepdogs are one of my favourite bands, so it was great to see them, but they had a special guest, someone who is well known for his work for such songs as All Right Now, the lead singer of Queen…Mr. Paul Rodgers! That was crazy. But unfortunately…I didn’t get to hear my favourite song, Catfish 2 Boogaloo because the legendary singer took up half the set…It was a win/win/lose situation from my perspective, but obviously a win for The Sheepdogs.
2. MTC Twelfth Night.
If you have ever seen the movie, She’s The Man, this is what that movie is based from! Twelfth Night is one of the most interesting and famous plays that Billy Shakespeare has ever written for it’s controversial three way triangle. The King-like person is in love with this woman across the land who is in love with this ‘man’ who is actually a woman. Sounds like it would happen in Northern Ontario…But it is a comedy! The whole production was put on by MTC and directed by Moist Theatre’s Cliff Murphy, who did an amazing job.
Also from Moist Theatre, Matt Andaloro, who was an intern at 2Social, was one of the main characters and provided everyone with laughter and Ryan Gosling like charm. I could go on and on, but I really enjoyed the performance by Kristi Boulton, who is now my second half in 2Social, and other great performances by Michael Patricelli, Samantha Curtin, and much more. The list goes on. It was a really great performance and I very much enjoyed it!
3. Dance, Dance, Dance!
My good friend and fellow Tumblerer(-er?), Allana Beavis took the stage today and gave a fantastic performance with the rest of the dance group. They performed with much grace and poise, and I felt like I was a judge on America’s Best Dance Crew. It was an excellent performance!
4. Gourmet B1tches Launch Party
You can find the post below, but on Monday was the Gourmet B1tches Launch Party, a new gourmet food truck in Toronto! They had their launch party at The Boiler House in the Distillery District with lots of food and drinks to go around. I was live tweeting with Lauren Shirreffs for them and we managed to get over 100+ Twitter new followers…over night! Wow!
VERY EXCITED for the summer because you know what that means, interns! I am very excited to teach the new interns coming in different aspects of social media in exchange for help with my channels. We are hoping to pull together a couple of short videos, some podcasting maybe and a lot more!
5. Just Posted!
Here are some posts I was working on this week. Check them out:
So far #NoCoffeeMarch has been great! I actually have been sleeping better and waking up more refreshed than ever before. I think it’s because I don’t have the dependency of something to wake me up in the morning. It’s just my overall willpower to actually want to get up and start the day!
I am just going to be working on school projects for the rest of the week, so I am not sure that I will have any small victories this week, but you never know!
7. The BlackWing
I was in a movie! All the work that Outside In Studio has done over the past 3 months has all paid off! The BlackWing was premiered at Fresh, which is a Communications and Multimedia day where students in the program showcase their final projects before graduation. The BlackWing was a great accomplish by Outsidein Studio because this was there longest production, ever! Congratulations on the work guys, you did amazing!
The movie itself will be playing in Oakville on the 25th on the big screen and has been submitted to various different film festivals. TIFF here we come!
8. Discovered: Michael McIntyre
Here is a video about a trip to the bathroom that is very spot-on and funny. Check it out below!
9. Birthday!
Today I turned 24 years old! I should start getting to bed earlier and complaining how Pluto was a planet and how Guess Who was the best game.
