Didn’t know what it was, didn’t know where it was going, didn’t really know what it was before. Started learning and educating myself.
Huh? Start a magazine? You don’t know anything about magazines!
Didn’t care. I wanted to do it. I didn’t know how to do anything before. So I learned. I took the time and I learned how to do what I needed to. What’s SEO? How do I take nice pictures? Why would people want to go to a site like yours? How does a magazine actually operate?
This is something more than a blog for me. This is something that my father loved that I did. This is something that came from the heart and this brought me closer to be more like my dad. He used to write, I idolized that about him.
I keep writing this magazine because I love writing for it. It’s something that brings me joy and only started from only a $20 bill.
You can’t possibly know what is going to come from something when you start something. It’s like a tunnel. You can stay outside the tunnel and be safe, or you can go into the unknown, and not know where you are going to end up.
But people have made magazines before, they went through the tunnel, struggled, and came out better than they did before. So I went through too, but I did it my own way.
Do something. Create. Keep hustling. Make it work. Know your path, and make it happen…if you can’t do something, find someone who can help you.
If you don’t do it, who else will?
Are you going to be happy when someone takes your idea? Or are you going to be the person who proudly says you started something.
Thank you to everyone who supported me on this, I really appreciate you all. To anyone who read LXRY, looked at it, downloaded it, talked about it or even asked me about it, thank you. Thank you Kelly, Natalie and Van Anh for all of your help to make LXRY better each and every time we talked and worked on it.
Here’s to another two years. And here’s to you for starting something that you can celebrate 2 years from today.
